nag-uulyanin na ko... been forgetting a lot of things lately!

Masaya ko kasi nahabol ko pang panoorin ang Runaway Jury kagabi (went with shiela kasi mukhang kaming dalawa lang yung talagang by hook or by crook gustong mapanood iyon). Muntik pa ngang hindi namin maumpisahan dahil, as usual, late ako sa usapan namin.

Was I satisfied? Pwede na.

Unang una, I know the original story by heart. As in sa lahat ng John Grisham novels, yun ang pinaka- favorite ko. Tipong hindi mo na mabibilang sa daliri kung ilang beses ko na yun nabasa. Last week lang inulit ko pa yun, imagining John Cusack while doing so. Sobrang excited talaga ko wanting to see John do the Nicholas Easter character.

Sabay, umpisa pa lang ng movie, marerealize mo na na, "hey! hindi ganyan ang umpisa ng story!!!!" Buong panonood ko, nasa back of my mind: "no, that's not how it happened in the book!" Ilan sa mga changes na obvious ay:

- hindi against the gun industry ang sa book, it was a case against a tobacco company
- walang "Jury for Sale" na note na binigay si Marlee sa libro
- kulang yung mga court scenes wherein massense ng mga lawyers na someone's leading the jurors
- walang assault scenes sa book
- Nicholas Easter did not only assume 3 personalities (David Lancaster, Jeff Kerr, and Nicholas Easter). Apat na beses syang nagpalit ng personality.
- sa book, both Nic and Marlee had a motive for doing what they did, both had one of their parents die because of lung cancer. in the movie, si Marlee lang ang may motive.

Ah basta, marami pa yun. Although expected na rin na babaguhin nga yun sa movie para mas exciting. Pati, wala pa namang movie na nag-give justice talaga sa book where they got the story (exception na siguro ang LOTR).

Ang masasabi ko lang, mas better pa rin ang book. Mas exciting pa nga ata yun e. Yun nga lang, i loved the fact na si John and Rachel ang two lead actors.

Do I recommend the movie? Definitely!!!
