I am still SUPER BORED in the office.
Anyway, I hope that will change in a few days. I'll be joining another project tomorrow since the last one commenced last Monday.
In other news, I am looking at my organizer and somehow, I got depressed. I miss seeing lines of meeting schedules in there. I wish I had a different job. One that would entail me to meet different people and be at different places at different times.

this and that
I am more than paranoid. Must be all these murder news I've been hearing almost everyday.
Am on a high. First, I bought for carrots the book she long wanted to buy (The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants) and asked her if i can buy it before here. (haha kapal!) Second, I discovered that one of my officemates are into asian movies (korean, specifically) and books like me. Borrowed from her Bridget Jones Diary 1 (saw the movie before but of course I want to compare) and 2, plus 3 korean dvds (...ing, Oh! Happy Day!, and 100 Days with an Arrogant Guy). Wooohoo! Third, I bought dvds last night (japanese, korean and chinese). Lastly, kulit's lending me her book, Simply Divine (that is, if she remembers!). Coolness!!!
Been a busy week for me. Not work-related though, because I did nothing in the office but wait for the clock to strike 5:30. I went shopping alone last Tuesday night. Went to have impromptu dinner with kulit and ja Wednesday night. Went dvd shopping last night with some of my officemates. Will be meeting the girls tonight. Tomorrow will be spent with mom and sis. Whew! I wonder how i can finish everything i borrowed with the limited time i have.
Angela will have a doggy and she's turning to kulit for tips and advices. (naks!) LOL. And we had our aquarium set up in our nova home last Wednesday. Can't wait to see that.
Harry Potter movie tix are sold out in Greenbelt already. Sigh. And I prefer watching it there.

journal entry written on may 23, 2004 at 3:15 in the morning
It wasn't like this before.
I used to be sound asleep when the clock struck 9 in the evening. Our dad imposed strict bed times to me and my sister. Then "telebabad" became the "in" thing and I found myself sleeping late because of it. It wasn't really being on the phone that got me breaking my 9pm bed time. Sometimes, I would be up all night because I'm cramming for a next day exam (or for a machine project due in 2 days time) or I'm listening to people and their love problems on RX 93.1's Dr. Love show or I'm texting with someone who, like me, doesn't have anything better to do.
But since then, I haven't been sleeping the way i used to. There'd be nights when I'd hit the sack early only to find myself wasting my time, tossing and turning because I can't sleep. In fact, there were times before that I'd see myself cry out of frustration.
I did try some people's suggestions such as to turn the radio on or play something soothing and relaxing. But music doesn't lull me to sleep. It keeps me all the more awake because I tend to listen to the words and lyrics of each and every song. Other suggestions: drink milk, exercise, change pillows and bed sheets. Tried them and never worked for me. Although, there was one thing that I thought for a while there would be the solution. Coffee. If for some people coffee works as a wake-upper for them, I've found that coffee actually makes me sleepy. And then I got immune to it and also doesn't work anymore.
Finally, I gave in. I stopped fighting. I'd see myself perpetually awake at this time of the night. Normally, I'd check the telly to see if there are shows worth wasting my time away (channel surfing at its best). If not, I'd be in bed listening to the radio or the CD while I read a good book. Sometimes, I do my cross-stitching at this time of the day. Most of the time though, I'm here, in my room (or in the living room), curled up with my pen and this journal, and just writing. Before I know it, one of my parents is already awake.
And to say that I love it at night is an understatement. It is after all at this time when I can think clearly. I feel at peace especially when there's nothing turned on around the house. The Cristina Hidalgo couldn't have said it any better. "I, on the other hand, cherish silence. So I like being wide awake at night when most other people are knocked unconscious. But part of the pleasure, I suspect, comes from the feeling that when one is the only person awake, one has an edge over those who are asleep. They don't know, they are not aware. Whereas, one does and is."
Yes, I am a nocturnal (insomniac probably's the term) and I am most alive and productive at the latter part of the day. Sometimes, I miss sleeping at a normal time. I envy those who get 6 hours of sleep everyday (3 or 4 hours of sleep is what I only get everyday). I still get frustrated with my sleeping habit. But as long as everything's working as they are (no mental, emotional or physical deterioration on my part has been noticed), I'll have to bear with this. (Anyway, I try to make up for my lack of sleep during weekends.)
*Note: I was actually inspired to write this since I got hold of Sleepless in Manila, a collection of essays written by insomniacs.

gmail

Google offered (some?) blogger users to test their new email service. I registered for it since a 1GB space is just hard to resist (no need to delete anymore as gmail tells us). It groups messages of same subject in one. Plus, it serves us 5 girls best (fact is, I made that account exclusively for them).
For 5 girls who seem to not run out of things to say to one another, we depend on emails to make our messages be known to all. Instant messengers have failed us this time, not because they are faulty but because some of us cannot chat in the office.
I dunno if the girls have realized that in a span of 14 days, we've had a total of 102 emails already.
It's not really gmail per se that i'm glad is available. I'm also glad there are new experiences, guys and other stuff. (I'm not too keen on the guy part though. I mean, we all know guys make not only our hearts ache, they are also responsible for making our heads hurt.) Not only do we have a diverse array of topics we can always give our two cents worth, but those made us grow closer. We find ourselves looking out and being happy for each other.
I dunno. Maybe it's just me. But really. I'm glad I have these 4 girls with me.

today's gonna be a busy day for me. revising test evidences, for pete's sake. Ctrl+Alt+Print Sceen - Copy - Paste for me once again. how exciting.
was watching meet my folks on entertainment channel last night. seriously, a lie detector test to choose your daughter's dating partner???
i hate early morning phone calls. promise. makes my heart really beat faster and insane thoughts would immediately start popping in my head. felt like it's always bad news (like i said before).
turned out it was my auntie from the province, asking where our uncle was staying. they didn't want him to come back to the province yet since it's post election period at nagkakagulo don and he'll be in danger. don't ask me how he figured into that.. it's a looong looong story.

i knew i can always count on my friends to help me with my abnormalities just in time.
like i said, i haven't been my normal self weeks ago.
last week was my healing period. the we-need-to-meet-up-and-talk dinner with the girls started it. to hear kulit and her shameless laugh, see carrots reacting as we pick on her, talk with the ever-poised angela, and listen to ja and her story are enough to help return to my old self. soon after that, me and kulit were inside powerbooks checking out books and buying a few.
and because i'm back, my lazy-ass alter ego is on the comeback as well. i decided, before meeting with the girls, that i'd work half day the next day. thinking of being polite and all, i sent a yahoo message to our admin staff to tell her that i'm gonna go on a planned sick leave friday morning. that proved to be a bad idea 'cause as i was about to disconnect from ym, a message window popped with a message that told me i just made a blooper. i accidentally sent the message to our boss (our deve manager, that is). i would've been really really embarrased if my boss wasn't cool. but he is cool, and he said it's just fine with him.
so yeah, i didn't go to work in the morning the next day. i was there in greenbelt and glorietta roaming around. went to powerbooks once again to "tambay" and to buy another set of books. after debating whether or not make the leave a whole day, i found myself heading to the office. didn't do much in the office but chat. then met stephe when he dropped by in the office for a few minutes. it was such an unproductive day.
the books, i think got me really excited that i was devouring them one by one over the weekend. plus, i re-arranged the books in our shelves and organized stuff in my bedroom.
and this week???? i'm actually feeling pretty pretty good.
