pero seryoso. ngayon lang nag-dawn sa kin na taon na lang at dadaan na rin sa ganyang kaba kapatid ko. malamang ako rin. sabagay, medyo matagal pa naman yun.


hah! what was up with bbp* (read it backwards)? gawing debate ba kung sino dapat manalo? parang national issue! buti na lang nung nailipat ko, wala si papa, malamang sa malamang, scoff na naman aabutin ko. hate na hate nya yun e, buti pa noos mas mik* (basahin uli pabaliktad), nakikinood pa sya. lol.

speaking of that, kahit mahilig ako sa korean, d talaga ako nahilig sa series. ayoko ng series, lalo na pag madrama. at least pag movie, ilang oras lang yung maffeel mong lungkot. iiyak ka tapos maya maya tapos na. pag series, gabi-gabi makikilungkot ka. mabigat yun. exception na siguro ito ngayon. cute yung bidang guy eh haha. (hilig mag-tuck in at mag-pink and white ang linis tingnan) ang kakainis lang, d mo makuhang mainis dun sa isang girl kasi d sya yung typical na kontrabida... d mo nga masabing kontrabida sya e.. basta, d sya yung bidang girl.

been a while

haven't been updating cause i just don't feel like it.

anyway, i am now 25 years old. 25. LOL.
it's funny. whenever i check out chic lit, i first look at the main character's age. if it turns out she's in her 30s (even if its early 30s), i wouldn't buy it anymore thinking she's such an oldie. well well, in a matter of 5 more years, i should start considering myself an oldie then.

oh well. that's just numbers.

last week was fun. there were pre-birthday celebs and celeb proper. there's a supposed post-celeb slated this week, but i had to move it to next week. thanks to friends' greetings (my guy bestfriend forgot to greet me again LOL, but that's expected. one time he called me up around april already and had this for an opening: nag birthday ka na pala noh?!). but special props to officemates, girlfriends, boyfriends, and my family of course. you're all priceless. (senti mode lol). by the way, to those concerned, can you send me copies of pics? please?????????

i am finally feeling the heat. it's summer. time to bring out those tank tops, bermuda shorts or just plain shorts if you must, and flip flops!
oh but i'm still gaining pounds day by day. i'm kinda getting worried that i might one day find myself really bloated and then it would be difficult to return to my old size. scary. right now, i just can't stop eating and eating.

i'm getting tired of my hairstyle. i want a new one. i just don't know what. but it's only been 3 months.

this is a nonsense post but what the heck. i'm actually just killing time.

Asking For More

I used to think I should lie low from asking too much from Him because I was afraid I'd become so selfish. I've been blessed so much that I can't be satisfied with what I have still.

But thanks to pastors' messages, they've let me realize that to ask for more than what I (think) I need is not being selfish at all. In fact it is being selfless because if I ask for what is enough, I am only thinking of myself. What we need is more of understanding, of patience, of wisdom, of love, of everything else so that we will have more to give and share.

I guess it's time I be selfless.

Modern and Everyday Life [picture heavy]

As this site here describes BKK as a booming, bustling city of smiling, gentle people, one can't help but see the similarities and differences between this city and Manila.

1) Food court at the Platinum Mall. Great ambiance - spacious, well-lit, neat and clean. Offers variety of food choices. Had to make use of a card to pay for your food. 2) Petchaburi road at night. View from the walkway. 3) Elephant at night. Roaming in the city streets. I had to point out the animal to both my mom and joy (who were walking in front of me and were almost face to face with the elephant's butt) before they took notice. [i didn't dare come near it, btw]. 4) Government office or a bank. I don't quite remember what this is. But really, their banks looked like houses. 5) On the road. Traffic there can be as bad as here. 6) Jellyfish. One of the sea creatures that can be found when you enter Siam Paragon's Ocean World. Entrance ticket here costs 450 baht for adults. 7) Hard Rock Cafe. We went there before heading to the night market. I just had to go there to buy my shotglass. :) 8) Floating Market. A few khlongs or canals are left as a tourist attraction. 9) MBK Mall. (Taken from the walkway). One of the more known malls in Bkk. There are 3 (or 4) other malls around this area, too, 10) City at night. (Taken on board the ship). There's Shangrila hotel and other establishments all lit-up. 11) Food court in Isetan. Food court located in the mall's parking lot. 12) Wat at night. 13) Platinum Fashion Mall. One of the many malls that was just walking distance from the place where we stayed. 14) A local worshipping a certain image. A common sight in Bkk. 15) Wood carver. One of the many wood artists we saw when we went to a furniture store.

Asian Pride

I saw Memoirs of A Geisha with Joy last Saturday. I wasn't thrilled to see it as I've heard not-so-good reviews of it. I wasn't thrilled to see Chinese actresses playing Japanese characters. It's not about seeing an ethnicity portrayed by another race, it's just that I think who could better portray a cultural figure in Japan than a Japanese herself. If they chose them because of their english capabilities, why not have them speak in their native tongue? (I had a hard time understanding what Ken Watanabe was saying though). I wasn't thrilled to see the novel in action.

But there weren't other movies to choose from, so...

If for anything, Gong Li was a delight to watch. I don't know if that's enough reason for others to see this.

Afterwards, I met up with Siobe to catch Fearless. Being Jet Li fanatics, we weren't to miss this one. Especially now that it's not hollywood produced and it's said to be his last epic movie. (The only hollywood-produced movie of his that I saw was Romeo Must Die. After that, I chose to boycott all others). Effects wasn't grand. Fight scenes weren't either. The story line was simple. It was reminiscent of his Once Upon A Time in China movies which we totally loved up to this day. There he plays Wong Fei Hung (famous martial arts master), here he is Huo Yuan Jia, wushu master (although they fictionalized his life). Epic or not, watching him on screen will always be an experience.

The thing with these two movies is that both showed two Asian cultures that we can probably learn a lesson or two.

And yes, there's Ang Lee winning an oscar.

Bkk may fast becoming a modern city but it doesn't mean you won't find traditional architectures around. One can still see the multi-tiered rooflines, the ornate decorations, the elegant murals, and the different buddha images.

It has been a month since we set foot in Bkk but neither one of us has posted a good enough entry about it. Thus, this and the succeeding posts.[i provide the text, joy provides the photos]

Food

Either you love it or you hate it. If you're one who is accustomed to spicy dishes then you won't probably be caught off-guard at how spicy their food can really be. We learned our lesson and so we tried to ask first before we dig in to a certain food. Prices are reasonably cheap.

1) Tom yum soup. It's hot, so hot that Joy almost fainted the first time she tasted it. To think that the woman even asked us if we wanted it spicy and we said no. 2) Banana and Chocolate Wrap. A crispy crepe that costs more or less 25 baht. 3) Colorful Gelatin. I think it's a stringy gelatin (i could be wrong). Tastes good though. 4) Ice cream. Five flavors for only 149 baht.
