I used to think that He is getting tired of me and my requests. During elementary and high school, I bombarded Him with prayers concerning my studies: that I don't get a grade lower than this, or that I maintain this average so that I would stay in the honor section, etc... I would usually tell Him to help me and that it will be the last time that I'll ask Him for that.
When I stepped into college, I vowed to myself that I'd study hard, just so He won't have to hear my incessant academic-related pleas. But, I wasn't able to keep my word. I was asking Him for things more than ever. That time, they weren't prayers about my grades alone.
Now, I feel like I don't have that much to ask for myself anymore.
Is it because I'm done with school? Nah... I guess I've become mature as a Christian. I've realized that it's not for me to tell Him what to give me and what I deserve. I realized that praying isn't just about me, it's about praying for other people first. Most importantly, I realized that praying is about thanking Him for every single thing I see, hear and have in this world.

and another one leaves
i have always been fond of him.
the first time i met him was when he introduced himself to us february of last year, i thought he looked young for the position he's holding and that he's a serious person. days and months went by and i was able to discover a different side of him.
he sees to it that he knows his people's (the developers) issues/concerns so that he can bring it up to the management. but that's how managers are, right? oh but he's not just that to us, like i said, he's like a dad spoiling his children, from free food to lunch and dinner outs. but aside from the things that i said before about him, there's the fact that i owe him many. he was responsible for making what should've been a short work stint into a regular job for me. it was he who put in a good word for me during my evaluations that 1)from contractual, i was absorbed and hired as a regular employee and 2)i've had salary increases even before i marked my 1st year. i'm grateful for him because he trusts my skills when i myself don't.
time and again i've said that i know there are job opportunities out there that could probably offer me higher compensation but what's keeping me here is the people i've grown accustomed to. lately though, many are resigning. what saddens me most is that he has also resigned and it's his last day on the 30th of this month. we wouldn't want him to go, but now that he doesn't seem to be happy with the way things are in the office, i guess all we can do is to thank him for what he has been to us and to wish him well.

cosmo bachelor bash
i didn't have a clue who were included in that bachelor list when i went with the girls last thursday night. that was probably why i wasn't too keen on attending the event. but heck, we got the tickets and it wouldn't hurt if i went anyway.
we got there early that we waited for 2 hours before the show finally started. the next thing we knew, the members of this guy group named gogo-whatever were sexy dancing in cages. contests were held one after the other (oh the girl contestants - some of them were too timid for the challenge and some were just 'too game'). and then came the men, fronted by that KFC guy and that was when almost every woman lost it.
almost that is, 'cause while i must say seeing bodies of men is visually appealing, standing in the crowd for hours sardined like hell was just exhausting.
it was crazy (in a good way) 'though it wasn't an event that i'd say i'd regret if i hadn't come. but carrots saw paolo (paraiso), and her best friend saw brent (javier), angge saw jay-r, and kulit saw what she wanted to see. they're happy, i'm happy.
onto the pictures. (sucks that blogger doesn't have that lj-cut)

birthday message
carrots,
as Carrie Bradshaw said, no matter who broke your heart or how long it takes, you'll never get through it without your friends.
my point: we're here and we may not always agree with the decisions you make, but we only want nothing but the best for you.
more good times (and bad times) to share with you!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

friday
the girls met for dinner as a post-birthday celebration for kulit and a pre-celebration for carrots. after the dinner, kulit, carrots and i were off to al's place. unfortunately, angge and ja couldn't come with us.
we arrived at al's at 11pm already when everyone thought we'd be there at 9. kulit and carrots were in-charge of the alcohol and you could just imagine the others waiting for us and the booze to arrive. saw old college friends/blockmates whom we haven't seen for the longest time and met a couple of their friends as well. seeing old friends meant seeing and laughing at their funny antics (also meant being asked of that same old question about my lovelife).

(see the pink earrings? <3 them... was in the mood to dress fruitsy that day. :D)

slept over at kulit's place with carrots, who by the way slept like a log as soon as she laid down on kulit's bed.

carrots, haha, i sneaked and took our picture while u were sleeping... haha forgive me?
woke up early so that carrots and i could head home. dropped by the mall to buy ourselves drinks before going separate ways.
on a side note, i'm proud of us three. why?
saw kulit's room (now that her cousin's out of the country, it's hers) and saw how neat and organized it was. her comics arranged as orderly as possible in her huge box, her toys displayed on the shelves, same with her books. her room looked spacious compared to how i saw it the last time. :)
carrots, though drinking more than she wanted to, wasn't that wasted. she was laughing like silly but at least she wasn't saying stuff she could regret later on. she was even aware that kulit and i were trying to get her really drunk haha.
i was able to go home alone and by commuting my way (that's to our nova home). ok, carrots went with me 'til we reached qc but after that i was on my own. *smiling proudly*
next stop for us girls this week: the Cosmo Bachelor Bash. yes, we have tickets. although, i'm not yet sure if i wanna go.

i get a kick out of watching asian movies... (movies, shows... what the heck, just as long as it's asian, i love it already).
Hero has just been shown in the US and korean movies are gaining popularity outside Asia, Asian cinema is getting the respect of not only asians but of the americans, or the brits as well. good for them.
In lieu of Hero, the director of the said movie has another one yet to be shown here (it's shown in Korea last Sept 10 already and to be shown in the US on December). It not only stars famous actors and actresses, it boasts of good fight scenes and the cinematography. (heard though that the plot's not good enough).
Title: House of Flying Daggers
Director: Zhang Yimou
Cast: Takeshi Kaneshiro (crush-worthy. he's of japanese and taiwanese parents), Zhang Ziyi (who doesn't know her??), Andy Lau (HK actor and asian superstar).
Enjoy these 2 trailers.
am officially excited.

tv and movie stuff
not because i'm in the office doesn't mean i don't get blow by blow accounts of shows on t.v.
yesterday, aside from the fact that i had a meeting to attend and a deadline to beat, i was being regarding the Lasalle-Ateneo game.
today, it's TAR5 updates that i'm receiving (from my siobe, friends and the net). Can't wait to watch the replay...
Speaking of TAR5, Chip and Kim yielding Colin and Christie made my day! i love them for that... but i don't like that they came in first.
Luli with Phil at the pitstop = ewwww
Anyway, still rooting for brandon and nicole.
will post later for movie stuff...

amazing race 5
it's about to end (just like my OTH) this september but if what i've been hearing is true, season 6 will follow almost immediately, in fact on this same month as well (daw).
so the twins have been eliminated (their luck has finally ran out) and the four teams remaining will set foot on Philippine soil next. woohoo.. the last leg will also be here in the phil. (again, that's what i've been hearing). i can't wait.
seems like Colin and Christie are on a roll, much to my dismay. does this mean they'll eventually win the race???

irritated...
it's funny (and mostly irritating) how some people say they are worried about me when i'm on emotional mood.
why worry when i'm not even known for doing stupid things when i'm depressed and emotional? ('cause i don't and i don't plan to). truth is, i don't suppose most of my closest friends worry about me, they know me well enough to just let me be. i may be emotional and all but i still keep my sanity in place as much as possible.
unlike some people... sheesh...

emo mode
dibale ngayon lang
'kala ko maganda araw ko. d pala.
kasalanan ko din naman, i've been trying to look at things that already happened in the past. mga bagay at tao na hindi na dapat binabalik-balikan pa.
it started with the picture. me seeing him in that reminded me kung pano sya pumorma non at yun na, parang biglang bumuhos yung mga memories ko tungkol sa kanya.
and then it ended with the update. alam ko i should be happy he is happy kahit sa ibang tao nya yun nakita. pero ba't ganon? iba naffeel ko at nde ko gusto yung ganitong feeling.
i need a long walk alone.

it's a lazy and boring day.
am waiting for further instructions as to what to do next here. the internet's supposed to keep me busy (and entertained), but it's not. net surfing the whole day is not fun at all.
anyway...
just went through shmuck's blog and there he had this post about him not watching too much tv, if not at all. i had to imagine myself doing the same. i think i can do that... on the other hand, there are just too many shows/movies i'll probably miss. so yeah, maybe i can be like him but i doubt if i'll last a day.
foreign shows that i see to it i don't miss every week (the last three ones are my fave):
Oh! Tokyo 2
What: somewhat a travelogue that focuses on tokyo (ain't it obvious?). features events and places definitely worth watching.
Why i love it: (1) tokyo's like ny of japan and it's interesting to see all those stuff being sold (and there are lots of Philippine products there) and events taking place there. (2) there are lots of kawaii stuff i get to see (and want). (3) i find ellen (the host) funny. it's her usual "usyusohin natin" that gets me. i don't know if she has stayed too long in japan that her filipino vocab is now quite limited. haha.
Showking M
What: korean variety show
Why i love it: may not see Se7en, or Fly to the Sky, or TVXQ, or BoA all the time still, there's nothing worth listening than Korean Pop.
Pops in Seoul
What: it's like korean mtv (or channel v if you prefer).
Why i love it: same reason with Showking M. plus, Soy's cute. in fact, i like her clothes sometimes.
Sex and the City
What: hello?
Why i like it: don't really love the show. but it's the last season and there are really good quotes from this show.
Screen Flash
What: it's like mtv screen but again, korean style.
Why i love it: i get to check out upcoming and past korean movies i would want to check out later on.
America's Next Top Model 2
What: reality tv show produced by tyra banks
Why i love it: no particular reason actually. it's one of those shows that got me hooked (ever since ANTM 1) just because.
note: no urls because all urls are spoilers.
The Amazing Race 5
What: another reality tv show
Why i love it: it's the excitement and the fact that you get to hate and love the teams is another plus (haha). i don't know why i like TAR so much better than Survivor.
One Tree Hill
What: teen drama
Why i love it: do i have to elaborate on this??? but anyway, it's because (1) i do love the story, (2) i love the characters, (3) it's been quite a while since i followed religiously a teen drama series, (4) i dig the theme song by Gavin deGraw plus each and every song featured in the episodes and (5) Chad Michael Murray and James Lafferty.
there.
that's just the foreign shows i watch and then there's the local tv shows too but that will come next time.

i just got my application form for this coming japanese language exam. i'm gonna take it again since i failed (miserably?) last year and this time, i'm gonna push myself and take one level higher and i know i'm gonna get that certificate somehow.
but first i have to be more diligent and focused this time around.
