just watching...

i haven't been reading books with depth as of late. (haven't been to a bookstore since june.) it's just movies and tv shows for me for the meantime.

friday

an ex-officemate was kind enough to lend me DVD of a recently released korean movie (My Little Bride). me and my sister were not too keen on watching it though. during the first few scenes, we were still trying our best to reconcile with the plot of a 15-year old girl going through fixed marriage with a senior college guy. (it's not because of the age gap, it's the thought that the bride's still a teenager.) If it wasn't for the pretty faces of the lead characters, we wouldn't have went on with it. Good thing we did that cause as the story progressed, we found ourselves enjoying already. In the end, it turns out to be one of the nice films i've seen. Kinda weird at first but it's a touching movie that has no one dying in the end.

saturday

saw imelda with my mom and my sister before doing our shopping. not knowing what to expect upon watching it, i can say that i didn't like it that much. felt like there was something lacking. or maybe it's just not easy to capture the person as a whole in a 2 hour or less docu film, especially if that person is like imelda. it's amazing how people have long been following her and up to now, eyes are still on her. it's a wonder where she got her ideas - some of them i couldn't even grasp (what with her 7 pillars and cosmos stuff). she has perfected the art of making her the "star" she believes she is (and some people believe). i read a review from the newspaper that the imelda docu film was so pinoy, it shows how imelda liked/loved the idea of being "bida", much like many pinoys (let's just be honest, just look at our politicians). i didn't like/hate imelda more after seeing it. as i said, i guess i was looking for more.

caught last week's replay of one tree hill. it was one of the best episodes so far. the series is getting better and better.

also saw the 1st ep of of america's next top model 2nd season. i think i like the first season better.

sunday

amazing race day. i like brandon and nicole but they're not consistent with their actions as being Christians. hats off to brandon for his decision not to drink vodka even if it's just a shot and for not pressuring nicole (and just being there) while she was feeling really sick. it could've been better if he chose to do the road block instead. but they did became selfish when they were getting that plane ticket going to russia. oh well, i'll just see how they do this sunday.

early morning today (1am)

got home from work and saw that my dad was watching a walk to remember (LOL) that i joined him (threfore, i couldn't even remember how many times i have seen this one). it's not everyday he watches a movie such as that.

him: matulog ka na.
me: maya konti. watch ko lang 'tong scene na next.
him: ok pala 'to e noh?
me: oo, tapusin mo yan a.
him: happy ending ba or sad? pag sad, tutulog na ko.
me: happy ending syempre.

*during end credits*
him: sinungaling ka a, sabi mo happy ending.

-why would they kill me with such an ugly thing? at least they could've put ribbons or bows to make it prettier...

-7 pillars, cosmos, inverted heart...yadayadayadayada...

I DIDNT UNDERSTAND WHAT SHE WAS SAYING! HAHAHA!

-the character i liked the most was the priest who was clearly "swept away" by Imelda's imledific ways! hahaha!
