last night...
i was there in my work area, doing what i was supposed to be doing. we were only four people left in the office that time. and then this jerk officemate of mine approached me after five months of us not on speaking terms. see, five months ago i posted this. what really happened at that time was, this jerk's girlfriend started sending me hate messages insinuating that i am out to get her boyfriend. that was both insulting and maddening. Insulting because how can she think that i'd go for someone who already has a girlfriend?! And maddening because her choice of words were really uncalled for.
after what happened, the jerk couldn't look at me in the eyes anymore. i didn't want to do anything with him and so even if we were working on the same project, i tried my best to not talk to him or go near him. later on, i was retained on the project and he wasn't - that made my life better.
unfortunately, the project i'm in right now has him as a developer as well. unfortunately for me and for him most probably. i couldn't ask to be put in another project because i'd have to say my reason and i didn't want people to know that me and this jerk have a problem. i am still trying to be professional.
but what makes him a big time jerk is this. after that five months, he never had the guts to approach me to say sorry. he said to some people who knows about this that i may not be ready to hear his sorry (which is true). but last night, he had the gall to come near me and ask: "gnet, what time ka uuwi?" turned out that his gf is supposed to come to the office anytime. i didn't know what he wanted me to do? kumaripas ng takbo at dali daling umuwi???. he really had the nerve. i was stumped that i just said, "tatapusin ko lang to."
but i stalled for time. i stayed on my seat while i can see from the corner of my eyes na hindi na sya mapakali. i don't know what he's afraid of. that his girl's gonna confront me or that his girl's gonna confront him. whatever, i didn't care. i wasn't afraid of the girl.
when she finally arrived, i was still in the office. i waited for a few minutes before i went home. i passed them by and saw na hindi na maipinta ang mukha nung babae. i used to think they're my worst nightmare. the girl probably thinks i'm her worst nightmare. again, i don't care. it's not my fault that she's insecure and that she can't trust her jerk boyfriend. i don't know how she can think that i'd like his guy. ewww... spare me.
there was one saddening part about last night as well... it didn't make me mad. it made me really sad instead. i was actually thinking days ago that i guess it's about time that i forget about it already. i was thinking i'd be the first one to come up to that jerk and say that we bury the hatchet. but he beat me to it. except that he didn't say what i thought he'd say. it's sad that i felt like my belief of people having this innate goodness, no matter how bad they can be, somehow slip.
