5 dos and donts for guys

my own list of what guys should do and not do when they wanna tell a girl that they're interested:

1. DO NOT forward sweet sms messages. i know that there are those who gets "kilig" when they receive really sweet messages, i don't. who knows where they got those messages? nothing beats an originally composed message. (how is it possible to distinguish one? we just know.)

2. DO NOT use old school lines or try to fish for info from the girl you like. it's not gonna work. i have this officemate who keeps on casually saying things like: parati atang may sumusundo sa yo e. or magddate ka na naman noh? if he's waiting for me to answer him with a: nyeh, la sumusundo sa kin noh, or that, yup date ako with my girl friends... i'm sorry but he's not hearing that from me. it's not cute, it's irritating.

3. DO NOT try to act cool. there are times when the guy thinks acting nonchalant after days of showing the girl he likes her is cool and that would make him mysterious, he (they're) wrong. they're just giving this mixed signals to the girl that would eventually turn her off. be consistent (unless of course, you're just playing around).

4. DO listen (probably my own number 1 rule). don't pretend by looking interested when the girl's talking. to listen's not easy, and i'd like to actually meet a guy who remembers what you said and did (even when you yourself forgot about it already).

5. DO know how to assert yourself. some may prefer guys who come on too strong but guys who do, tend to make girls really uncomfortable. the key here is to always be honest.
